Storme

rapunzel

April 28th, 2009

On a gorgeous late spring afternoon we ventured to the park laden with changes of clothing & odd pieces of photographic equipment.
I met C & her Mum a little while ago & from the moment I saw C’s ‘Rapunzelesque’ hair, I couldn’t wait to plan an editorial style shoot.
I think the preperation has paid off, I love these images & found it a hard task to choose my favourites…
C just shone infront of the camera & is a real natural beauty.
Will keep you posted as to images being published…

spring

April 15th, 2009

Oh, spring has at last arrived & in it’s full glory it hasn’t disappointed
Longer days & warmer air, a hint of what’s to come & finger’s crossed it’s a good one this year… glorious summer!

April hath put a spirit of youth in everything
~William Shakespeare

The year’s at the spring
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hillside’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven -
All’s right with the world!
~Robert Browning

this poem takes me back to school! it was a favourite of mine
although my mornings start way before 7! but I do love the early morn, it resonates anew & contentment… some may call it ’spring fever’

So true:
Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush
~Doug Larson

And this is baby E who I photographed last week
Couldn’t she just be the angel of spring?
Her tender expression, fresh green outfit & her new life just blossoming

little ‘busy’ boy blue

April 13th, 2009

I am kept busy photographing hundreds of studio portraits for children’s day nurseries. The contemporary white background is still a favourite with nurseries & for family portraiture. The sharp & defined contrast between white background & bright clothing always works well. In this particular shoot I used a combination of studio lighting & window light.
Here is a very busy little chap who kept me on my toes, its great to get some fun action shots & cheeky smiles!
